Bryan is another of NZ’s unique and rare spirits alright. He seeks the truth with no favour. There should be a specific broadcasting grant just for him to help fulfil his investigations etc! Rather than mankind continuing to move forward we certainly are showing signs, not just of a ‘flat tyre’ effect, but rather that the brakes are failing badly. Thanks for the info - those payments stats just stagger me.

Thanks Dr Bex for your work and tireless advocacy.

I'm hoping we might get our first look at the Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Amendment Bill when the next Parliament sitting period begins next week. The alarm bells are already ringing just from Minister of Health Simeon Brown’s press release on what he is proposing.

I'm hoping to find a few hours to view the videos you've linked in your latest article

Thanks for sharing your great interview with Bryan Bruce on his Head2Head series, Dr Bex. It seems we share many of the same concerns about Minister Simeon Brown’s proposed amendments to the Pae Ora Act. I thought your examples were spot on; as was your oral submissionon the RSB. I found myself nodding in agreement throughout both. Especially regarding how the previous government’s more holistic and inclusive approach to health is now being systematically dismantled.

There appears to be significant overlap between the concerns of the disability community and those of the young-onset dementia community. As you said, the current messaging from Ministers can sound perfectly reasonable, until you unpack the detail.

When you dig deeper, it becomes clear that the Coalition is positioning public health and social supports for vulnerable people and their whānau as secondary or optional. It’s chilling how this shift is happening in plain sight, with government backbencher MPs holding the line regardless of the wider consequences. It seems that our communities, after feeling seen and heard, are once again being ignored in pursuit of ideological reforms that prioritise cost-cutting, control, and compliance over care, inclusion, and long-term wellbeing.

Some American states are socialising drug buying, successfully reducing costs

Many predicted the sky would fall but instead pharmacies are staying in business and drug prices are stable. A win for socialism
