The story that the government is like a household and we are wallowing in debt is fiction. It's a matter of priorities; why on earth would a sane and competent minister of finance give a tax break to landlords and tobacco companies at the expense of the health system? We have no answer, except perhaps she is not sane or competent.

Because she wants to see public health dismantled and corporatised! She is Extreme Right Atlas Network aligned person. She was a director of the NZ Initiative (formerly the business round table) an Atlas Network think tank. NZI are now embedded in Govt influencing policy and framing up legislation eg The Regulatory Standards Bill.

An excellent summary - a tragic reflection of this Govt working against the majority of people. And Luxon has the audacity to say, “we are laser focused to grow the economy, to provide for more public services and to put more money into Kiwis back pockets.” What a load of shit!

The opposition should be shouting out Luxon’s duplicity and lies in the public arena day after day!

A simple slogan -‘National’s taking money out of the back pockets of Kiwis - Luxon and the Govt is duping you !”

The mind boggles that many of the people worst hit by this cruelty voted for this government and will again. They'll be distracted by things like the definition of a woman or Maori being preferentially treated.

A sad (but important) list of manufactured crises that no cover up (blanket) can hide.

🤷 Hypocrisy is their middle name - but blanket banks do a great service so I guess it's better than hoarding them or chucking them in the trash ⁉️ Would that we didn't NEED to help people out with the basics like blankets to keep families warm in winter... 🥹 Would that we enabled people to care adequately for their whanau without help, or paid Drs enough to stop them leaving, or employed enough people in the Health system in all roles so patients didn't suffer long delays leading to worse outcomes or even death 🤬 I was supporting you all on the protest lines from my warm house because the weather bomb caused my local event to be canned 🌧️🚣 Next time 👍

Yeah. It's the falsity of it - being an MP actively making things worse for families at the legislative level and then running a blanket drives and posing for a photo-op. It's a symptom of a broken system and sometimes it's just too much.
